Music

Music connects people! Of course, you can sing or play an instrument by yourself, but it’s so much more meaningful to make music with others. Music in worship is especially a time when barriers of age, race, and style become less important, and praising God becomes the primary goal. Come and make the connection – to others, and to God – and involve yourself in a variety of music ministries:

The Sanctuary Choir – presents a unique annual “American Hymn Tunes and Spirituals” concert; leads worship at 10:30 Sunday; Christmas concert; for adults college age and older

The Joy Singers – special “niche” of doing ministry concerts in elder care facilities in Columbia and nearby communities; presents Christmas musical, worship service music; for adults 55 and older

Praise Team – band of guitar, drum and keyboard players, and singers who lead our 10:15 AM service Sunday morning

Preschool and Children’s Choirs – graded from three-year olds through 6^th graders; 3 preschool, 2 children’s; sing in worship through year, present Christmas music; two children’s choirs combine for annual spring musical

Youth Choir – sings monthly, presents Christmas service, musical in summer on mission; for 7^th – 12^th graders

Youth Handbell Choir – rings for worship, in special services; for 6^th-12^th graders

Soloist Ministry – worship services use youth and adult vocal and instrumental soloists

Tech Team – opportunity for worship support for graphics, sound, video
